The Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) has announced that Venezuelan conductor Eduardo Marturet, 71, has extended his contract as Music Director and CEO for an additional five years, through 2032. Marturet is in this position since 2006.

La Scala‘s CEO, Fortunato Ortombina, has announced that 72-year-old Korean conductor Myung-Whun Chung will be the successor of Riccardo Chailly as Music Director of Teatro alla Scala. Chung’s tenure will run from the end of Chailly’s contract at the end of 2026 until February 2030.
Florida Grand Opera (FGO) has announced the appointment of Spanish conductor Pablo Mielgo as Music Director. Since 2014, Mielgo (*1976 in Madrid) has served as Music Director of the Balearic Symphony Orchestra in Spain, where he is preparing to inaugurate Caja de Música—one of Europe’s most technologically advanced and versatile concert halls.
