Der Komponist und Dirigent John Williams hat aus akuten gesundheitlichen Gründen und um die weitere Genesung nicht zu gefährden, die Reise nach Berlin für die geplanten Konzerte im Juni abgesagt. Sein enger Freund und musikalischer Wegbegleiter, Stéphane Denève, wird deshalb das von John Williams konzipierte Programm sowie das Dirigat der Konzerte vom 5. bis 7. Juni übernehmen.

Riccardo Chailly will remain Music Director of La Scala in Milan until the end of 2026. The Board of Directors instructed the superintendent, Fortunato Ortombina, to verify the maestro’s willingness, enforcing the option already in the agreement with him. According to that, Chailly will open the next season with Lady Macbeth of the District of Mcensk  and will stay through 2026, not just through the summer. In May, the Board will discuss about candidates for Chailly’s succession.

62-year-old Canadian conductor Yves Abel has renewed his contract as Principal Conductor of the San Diego Opera. Abel has held his position since the 2020-21 season, and his new five-year extension will last through the 2031–32 season. Read More →
