Though the protest movement Nuit Debout (Up All Night) in the Place de la République in Paris turned sometimes in violent actions, the atmosphere was festive yesterday evening when a symphony orchestra of 300 musicians played the New World Symphony by Antonin Dvorak « to give courage to all those who invent for three weeks tomorrow’s world », according to organizers. The work, according to them, had a significant symbolic meaning for the entire movement. The Nuit Debout movement describes itself as a gathering of ordinary citizens who want to create a fairer world.
