French soprano Elsa Dreisig, 25, and South Korean Tenor Keon Woo Kim, 30, won Placido Domingo’s Operalia contest, held at the Teatro Degollado in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Second prizes went to the Russian tenor Bogdan Volkov and soprano Marina Costa-Jackson (United States/ltaly). Third prizes were awarded to tenor Rame Lahaj (Kosovo) and Ukrainian soprano Olga Kulchynska. The Birgit Nilsson Prize went to American tenor Brenton Ryan.

In addition, Keon Woo Kim was also the recipient of the prize awarded by the audience, together with Russian soprano Elena Stikhina who won also the Culturarte Award. Mexican baritone Juan Carlos Heredia won the Placido Domingo Ferrer prize as best Zarzuela singer.
