Trump’s unilateral and unexpected decision to close the Kennedy Center for two years starting this summer came with no notice to the National Symphony Orchestra. This shows once again the clueless, erratic behavior of the dictator, who has no idea how the Kennedy Center he occupies actually works and is also unfamiliar with the music world, where planning takes place years in advance.

For the NSO the decision to close the center has led to a scheduling nightmare. The orchestra performs three times a week during the season. Other venues now have to be found for these concerts. No easy task!

The NSO began playing at the Kennedy Center in 1971.
