The international jury, chaired by Krzysztof Chorzelski, violist of the Belcea Quartet, has selected the following 10 string quartets from among 35 applications from around the world to participate in the International String Quartet Competition from April 10-15, 2026, in Bad Tölz.

Here are the selected quartets: Absalom String Quartet, Copenhagen/Denmark – Alinea Quartet, Graz/Austria –  Ast Quartet, Seoul/South Korea ∙ Madrid/Spain – Atenea Quartet, Barcelona/Spain ∙ Basel/Switzerland – Isla String Quartet, London/UK – Kandinsky Quartet, Vienna/Austria – Moser String Quartet, Basel/Switzerland – Quartet KAIRI, Tokyo/Japan ∙ Salzburg/Austria -Quartetto Pegreffi, Parma/Italy – Turicum Quartet, Zurich/Switzerland.
