The Sarasota Orchestra in West Florida shared schematic design renderings of its future Music Center, offering a first look inside the concert hall and the Education Center.
Primary features of the Music Center will include a concert with 1,800 seats, including a center aisle, a flexible performance space with 700 removable seats to accommodate a range of programs, multiple rehearsal and practice rooms suitable for ensembles of all sizes, serving the Orchestra’s Education and Festival programs and community arts organizations, a specially secured Music Library, backstage spaces for musicians, and administrative offices. There will also be modern patron conveniences for more easily accessible seating, modern air handling and related technology for audience comfort and safety, and ample parking, covered valet and drop off areas.
Sarasota philanthropists Tom and Sherry Koski have contributed $5 million to Sarasota Orchestra in support of its Music Center.
