Riccardo Chailly will return today at la Scala in Milan to conduct Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth, after falling ill last Wednesday evening while conducting the second performance of ‘Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District’ at La Scala. The performance was interrupted and the 72-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Monzino hospital in Milan.
