Since the beginning of the new season, the Kennedy Center’s trump-guided directorship decided that the National Symphony Orchestra has to play the American national anthem at the beginning of every concert. Before they did so on very special occasions only.

The new rule was not very appreciated by the musicians, of course.

Now, an internationally renowned conductor has said that the musicians of the National Symphony only tune their instruments after they have had to play the national anthem.
