Slovenian conductor Mojca Lavrenčič (33) has won the fourth edition of the La Maestra competition in Paris. She also won the International Orchestras Committee Prize, the ECHO Committee Prize, the French Concert Halls and Orchestras Committee Prize, the Arte Committee Prize, and the Paris Orchestra Musicians Prize.
Second prize went to Jiajing Lai (34) from China, and third prize to Alizé Léhon (27) from France, who also won the Generation Opera Committee Prize.
Palestinian conductor Lamar Elias (26) won one of the special prizes, the Paris Mozart Orchestra Musicians’ Prize.
The jury was chaired this year by Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv, music director of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
