Lorenzo Viotti

The 35-year-old Swiss conductor Lorenzo Viotti will take over as Music Director of Zurich Opera House in August 2028. He has been appointed as the new General Music Director for the 2028/29 and 2029/30 seasons, succeeding Gianandrea Noseda, who has been Principal Conductor since 2021, the Opera House announced.

The initial contract term is set at only two years because it is based on the current term of office of Artistic Director Matthias Schulz.
