At the press presentation of the 2026 edition of the Chorégies d’Orange: the departure of current director Jean-Louis Grinda, 65, was announced. The reason is the continuing reduction in programming due to a lack of funds.
Richard Galy, president of the Chorégies, spoke of the fragility and vulnerability of the event, with its small team at the mercy of the weather and cancellations. Grinda was for 10 years at the helm of the festival. Before, the Monegasque manager and stage director was director of the Opéra de Wallonie in Liège and of the Opera in Mointe-Carlo.
