Roberto Loreggian spielt Partiten, Suiten, des österreichischen Komponisten Gottlieb Muffat (1690–1770). Geboren in Passau, war dieser der Sohn des bekannten Komponisten Georg Muffat. Er verbrachte einen Großteil seines Lebens in Wien, wo er als Organist und schließlich als Kapellmeister von Kaiserin Maria Theresia tätig war. Er wurde stolze 80 Jahre alt.

Obwohl Muffat ein Zeitgenosse von Bach und Händel war, ist seine Musik nicht mehr dem Barock zuzurechnen. Dazu ist sie zu expressiv und dramatisch.

Das lassen die Interpretationen von Roberto Loreggian erkennen. Er lässt uns dieses abwechslungsreiche Cembalowerk ausdrucksvoll entdecken.

Roberto Loreggian plays partitas and suites by Austrian composer Gottlieb Muffat (1690–1770). Born in Passau, he was the son of the well-known composer Georg Muffat. He spent most of his life in Vienna, where he worked as an organist and eventually as Kapellmeister to Empress Maria Theresa. He lived to the ripe old age of 80.

Although Muffat lived at the same time as Bach and Handel, his music is no longer considered Baroque. It is simply too expressive and dramatic.

This is evident in Roberto Loreggian’s interpretations. He enables us to experience the variety of this harpsichord repertoire in a new and exciting way.
