Domenico Muti, son of conductor Riccardo Muti, has terminated his three-year contract as advisor to the La Fenice opera house in Venice.

« Unfortunately, the climate that has been created does not allow me to continue my work with the necessary composure, » Domenico Muti explained in a letter to the director of the Teatro La Fenice, Nicola Colabianchi. The opera house’s use of external consultants had been criticized by the unions.
