In Southern California, opera singer Jubilant Sykes, 71, was found stabbed to death. According to American media, Santa Monica police announced that the internationally well-known baritone was found dead in his home on Monday evening with multiple stab wounds after an emergency call was received reporting an assault.

The singer’s 31-year-old son, Micah Sykes, was also in the apartment and was arrested without resistance, according to police. He is suspected of homicide, and a weapon was recovered at the scene.

Sykes performed at the Met, Deutsche Oper Berlin and many other venues.
