Der 1986 geborene singapurische Komponist und Dirigent Darius Lim schreibt Chorwerke, die zwar modern klingen, aber gleichzeitig leicht zugänglich sind. Lim bevorzugt helle Stimmen, die er für seine oft ätherische Musik effektvoll einsetzen kann.

Die Werke dieses Albums mischen liturgische und profane Texte, besingen die  die Schöpfung, den Schöpfer, die Schönheiten der Natur und imaginäre Fantasiewelten auf eine höchst fantasievolle und zugleich eindringliche Art und Weise.

Voices of Singapore (VOS) ist mit seinen verschiedenen Chören Singapurs größte Gesangsorganisation mit mehr als 1.500 Mitgliedern. Dies ist das erste offizielle Album von Voices of Singapore, und die Aufnahmen zeugen von der hohen Qualität der verschiedenen Gesangsgruppen.

Born in 1986, Singaporean composer and conductor Darius Lim writes choral works that sound modern but are also easily accessible. Lim prefers bright voices, which he can use to great effect in his often ethereal music.

The works on this album mix liturgical and secular texts, singing about creation, the Creator, the beauties of nature, and imaginary fantasy worlds in a highly imaginative and at the same time haunting way.

Voices of Singapore (VOS) is Singapore’s largest choral organization with a community of more than 1,500 members. This is the first official album by Voices of Singapore, and the recordings testify to the high quality of the various vocal groups.
