On their Facebook page the musicians of the Boston symphony criticized the decision by the Board of Trustees to end the appointment of Music Director Andris Nelsons in 2027. They say « We, the musicians of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, support our beloved Music Director Andris Nelsons. » They add that they believe in his vision for the future.

In a surprising announcement, the Boston Symphony Orchestra stated that Andris Nelsons, 47, will conclude his 12-year tenure as Music dDrector at the end of the 2027 Tanglewood season. The Latvian has been at the helm of the BSO since 2014. Criticism of Nelson is not concealed.
