Das südafrikanische Duo Piet Koornhof, Violine, und Bernarda Vorster, Klavier, spielt ein virtuoses Programm unter dem Titel ‘On Fire’. Dabei erweist sich der u.a. von Dorothy DeLay an der ‘Juilliard School of Music’ in New York ausgebildete Violinist als ein ideenreicher Interpret, der in puncto Virtuosität dem Programm nichts schuldig bleibt. Sein Geigenton ist chamäleonartig, mal brillant, mal weich, stets in allen Farben schimmernd. Die Interpretationen sind betont affekt- und effektreich. Bernarda Vorster liefert einen guten Klavierhintergrund und überlässt dem Geiger ganz klar das Feld.

In this virtuoso program ‘On Fire’, Piet Koornhof’s playing is full of imagination and extraordinary of dynamic accentuation and colour.
