Vienna Philharmonic's Refugee house

The Philharmonic Refugee House in St. Aegyd, an initiative of the Vienna Philharmonic, has been officially opened. The house has three apartments as well as a large meeting room « in which also the local population is invited to seek contact with the families of the house ».

One refugee family has already moved in and two additional families will soon follow. The care of the families will be in the hands of the refugee service of the Diakonie. The Orchestra communicated: « The Vienna Philharmonic will remain closely involved with this project. Musical instruction will be offered to the young people of the house, seminars will be held, art exhibitions will take place and also benefit concerts for the families will be performed in the house in St. Aegyd. »
