Jean-Christophe Spinosi
Ensemble Matheus and its conductor Jean-Christophe Spinosi have been informed by the Department Council (Conseil départemental) about a 30% reduction of the funding granted to the orchestra. This was reported by Le Télégramme.
Instead of 100.000 € the Brest based orchestra will receive only to 70.000 €. The orchestra’s budget is € 2.3 million, with more funding coming from the City of Brest (€ 120,000), the Region (€ 400,000) and the French Government (€ 200,000).
