The online held Moscow International Vladimir Krainev Piano Competition announced the names of the winners in the main categories. The Otkritie Prize, the main prize in the junior category, was shared by Elisey Mysin (Russia) and Shao Tzuyu (Russia, China). Eva Gareth (Romania) received the Achievement award in the middle category. By the decision of the jury, the main prize in the senior category – the Grand Prix – was not awarded this year.

The Houston Symphony Orchestra is playing again live concerts with audience, yet douston Symphony Hpousue to COVID-related travel restrictions, music director Andreas Orozco-Estrada will not be able to return to Houston this month to close out the season. Houston Symphony executive director and CEO John Magnum said the company has tried to get Andreas back on the podium, but without any success. Estrada is currently at his home in Austria.

American conductor Robert Trevino, 37, and the Malmö Symphony Orchestra have announced their ongoing mutual commitment for a further two years, with Trevino assuming the position of Artistic Advisor from the 2021/22 season. Read More →

Dass das Ensemble nicht nur gerade erwachsen ist, sondern schon einen staunenswerten Weg gestaltet hat, ergibt sich, wenn man seine Geschichte sieht. The Hartford Symphony Orchestra (Connecticut) announced that Music Director Carolyn Kuan, 44, has signed a new, two-year contract that will continue her commitment to the HSO through May 2024. Kuan was chosen as HSO’s 10th Music Director in 2011. Her initial three-year contract was extended for two additional years in 2014, and then for an additional six years in 2015. Her new contract begins with the 2022-2023 season.
