Officially, the Danish National Chamber Orchestra does no longer exist. The orchestra’s association handed over 40.000 protests to the Danish Minister for Culture, but the minister chose to close down the orchestra from the new year. Now, a group of skilled professionals has decided to ensure a future for the DNCO outside the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. They are Denmark’s most skilled producers, people with experience in establishing and realizing ambitious cultural projects, people with leadership experience from the music business, and finally people who can provide necessary legal and economic advice. The Association of the Danish National Chamber Orchestra has started a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to create the necessary economic basis that will allow the DNCO to establish itself in the new surroundings.
