With Cecilia Bartoli being ill, the General Manager of the Monte Carlo Opera Jean-Louis Grinda was alone to present the singer’s new orchestra ‘Les Musiciens du Prince’ yesterday at Monaco’s Embassy in Paris. Bartoli will be the artistic adviser of the new Orchestra created by the Monte Carlo Opera and directed by the concert master Ada Pesch.

Grinda announced that the inaugural concert will take place on 8 July at the Cour d’Honneur of the Palace in Monte Carlo. Cecilia Bartoli will be the soloist. Two international tours will be organized. The first one will feature the program of the inaugural concert (Händel & Vivaldi) in Amsterdam, Paris, Köln, Bremen, Brussels, London, Munich, Vienna, Graz, Budapest and Zurich.

Les Musiciens du Prince will also be part of the Salzburg Festival (Pentecost and Summer) with Händel’s Ariodante and Rossini’s La Donna del Lago, the last one being recorded by Decca.
